I Get a Kick out of You Frederik Steenbrink & Big Band in concert at Bal Blomet 03/31/23
Friday March 31, Bal Blomet hosts the very first concert of I Get a Kick out of You Frederik Steenbrink & Big Band.
This project to create a big band around the great standards of the legendary Cole Porter began three years ago.
The program features Cole Porter standards, with six original compositions in the same style and, to make sure we’re not missing out on anything, a few classics by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Doc Severinsen.
Arrangements are by Philippe Maniez, Bastien Ballaz, Nelson Riddle, Quincy Jones, Billy Byers, Johnny Mandel and Bill Holman.
Original compositions are by Frederik Steenbrink and Philippe Maniez.
The orchestra is made up of young stars from the Paris jazz scene:
